New Year's eve is fast approaching. Get ready for some evangelism! Christian tracts like these will get to the root of why people fail at fulfilling their resolutions.
Backside: Many people make new years resolutions, but fewer resolve to listen to their conscience in regards to spiritual matters. God’s law says, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, & might. But we have all loved other things more. We have broken God’s law by lying, stealing, looking with lust, not being content, & blaspheming His name. All have sinned & fall short of the glory of God. The Creator of the universe is infinitely worthy of all admiration. Failure to love him is not trivial - it is treason. Since God is just, he does not sweep these crimes under the rug. We are all guilty of breaking God’s law and therefore deserve to spend eternity in Hell. But God is both just and loving. His love is willing to meet the demands of his justice. This is why Jesus came from heaven. He lived a perfect life, characterized by the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Jesus offered up his life as a substitute for sinners, by dying on the cross, absorbing the wrath of God. Three days later Jesus arose from the dead, proving he has authority to make atonement for your sin. You broke God’s law; Jesus paid the fine. God’s desire is that you repent, that means confess your sins to him regularly and make a point not to do them any more. And He wants you to put your full reliance in Jesus as your Savior. Those who do will have Eternal Life abiding in them. The Spirit of God will then lead the believer to live like Jesus, to love like Jesus, to have joy like Jesus, to be at peace like Jesus, to have patience like Jesus, to be kind and gentle like Jesus, to be good like Jesus, to be faithful like Jesus, and exhibit self-control like Jesus. Study the Bible to learn more about living like Jesus. Living like Jesus impacts every area of life--how you interact with and edify your family; to how you encourage and strengthen other believers in the body of Christ (the Church); to how you educate your children to have a complete and consistent Christian/Biblical worldview; and living like Jesus even addresses how civil government should be under God's law-word, upholding the authority and truth of the Bible. Jesus is King, He is the LORD GOD! We are his subjects and our desire should be to think like him and do as he pleases in every area of life. There's not one square inch of this earth that does not belong to Jesus--it's time to start living like it! seedshakers.com
